Thank you for taking the "Better Than Sex" survey… and no, you don't have to agree with the title to participate! I'm looking for women's stories to create a beautifully ripe new book highlighting many different views of women's passions in mid-life and beyond.

This is not a scientific survey, it is a query of interests. I want to hear from you, but some questions may feel very personal, so please complete as much or as little of the survey as you like. You can include your name or not (if not, your comments will have a fictional name), but by completing the survey you are agreeing to have your words and ideas used without compensation.

Would you like to be considered for a personal interview, potentially featuring you and your work?

Questions for Women
1. If you are in or past the mid-life mark (whatever you consider to be mid-life), what was your life's work and passion about prior to mid-life? If you are younger than mid-life, what do you imagine your work and passions will be about after mid-life?

2. Are you passionate about your current work, or are you longing to be? What does that feel like to you? How does it play out in your life?

3. Will you speak about your creative life (or lack of it)? Is this important to you? How does creativity play out, or not, in your daily thoughts and actions?

4. What makes --or would make-- your work life meaningful to you?

5. Do you have a desire or urge to help "save the world" in some way? Please describe the urge, the specific desire if you know it, and your hope (or lack of hope) in making your own contribution to a real change.

6. If you are at or past mid-life, have your sexual passions changed in or since your earlier years? How? And how do you feel about that? If you are younger than mid-life, do you expect your sexual passions to change with age? If they do, how do you imagine you will feel about that?

7. If you are at or beyond mid-life, how is your relationship life different from when you were younger? If you are younger than mid-life, how do you expect your relationship life to be at mid-life and beyond?

8. How does your partner, or lack of partner, play into your sense of self and fulfillment at this stage of your life?

9. If you have a partner, and your level of desire for sexual intimacy has shifted toward other passions, what is his or her reaction?

10. If you are over at or past mid-life, what advice would you give to women younger than you who have yet to reach this age. If you are younger than mid-life, what do you wish older women knew about your own generation?

11. The themes of "Maiden-Mother-Crone" as stags of life for a woman have more recently been expanded to include a more dynamic set of years between the Mother and Crone. Does the theme of "Maiden-Mother-queen-Crone" resonate with you? Why?

12. Imagine yourself 20 years older than you are now: What do you vision for yourself in work, creativity, and world impact?

13. Is there anything else you think we should be sure to consider when writing this book?

This survey is largely for women, however we celebrate men and want to hear your thoughts too! Please feel free to comment on how the book title, theme and these questions resonate with you, either in the space below, or in the spaces provided for women's responses.
